SEASONS service is for adults in Edinburgh who wish support with their mental health and emotional well being. We run two out of hours drop-in social sessions for members, from our base in Lochend in the North East of the city. These groups run on a Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon, in addition we have a regular schedule of community activities on Thursdays often in partnership with other organisations including the National Trust for Scotland, Jupiter Artland and National Galleries of Scotland.

We are also really excited to announce that for the next few months artist Fraser Gray will be facilitating creative sessions with us as part of a new partnership with Art in Healthcare, see his work at www.frasergray.com

Our centre based social sessions meet in Lochend Neighbourhood Centre, adjoining Marionville Court, on Lochend Road South. Sessions have a safe and relaxed atmosphere and are run by a skilled staff team who facilitate a range of activities including: Massage therapy, relaxation, music and gentle movement, herbal workshops, art workshops, advice sessions, group advocacy, quizzes, bingo, games, singing and at each session there is the opportunity to cook and eat together which is a highlight for many and a great way to learn recipes to try at home or simply enjoy sharing a meal with fellow members and friends.

Throughout the year SEASONS runs social trips: Playing pool, going to the cinema, nature walks, visits to museums and galleries, travelling to the Kelvingrove in Glasgow, Gosford Farm in Aberlady, Abbotsford in Tweedbank, Musselburgh beach, the Kelpies in Falkirk and many more interesting places. The group usually agree a familiar place to meet and travel together by public transport to our destination, always taking time to share refreshments before heading home.

Many participants enjoy spending time in nature and for those wishing to engage more deeply with this experience and become involved in conservation activities we are recognised providers of the John Muir Award ( a national conservation award.)

SEASONS recognises that physical health and mental well being are closely linked and we are members of Edinburgh Leisure CAP scheme which offers affordable access to Leisure centres throughout the city for individuals wishing to establish an exercise routine.

In addition we are running a series of nutritional information sessions for members interested in eating a more healthy diet which have proved popular. We have close links with Lochend Secret Garden where we manage a group bed and hope to grow more of our own food over the coming year.

If you’d like SEASONS to support you, we have an open access policy, so please get in touch and arrange a time to visit.
